This is the "official" penalty system. It's not fixed in stone; if anybody wants changes to be made post a comment below about it. But for now, this will be followed. READ ALL OF IT

General rules for serving penalties:

- People who have been bad on YEP will be punished on YEP, and people who have been bad on the forum will be punished on the forum. Meaning, you can't punish someone who has committed a crime on YEP on the forum, and visa versa.

- You can't punish a person twice for the same crime. In order to be punished a second time, the person would have to commit a new crime.

- The forum and YEP will have different penalties for different things.

- Anyone who has been temp banned on YEP 3 times has the possibility of being permanently banned.

- If someone begs for rank/join room more than 3 times in one room he could be subjected to a penalty.

- If someone unintentionally breaks a room more than 3 times he could be subjected to a penalty.

- There will be a reset time for less serious offenses. The purpose for this is so people don't get perma-banned for a series of offenses that are 3 or 4 months apart. For example, lets say Charlie the Unicorn got the 1st offense for spamming. If he gets to the reset time without being permanently banned, his first offense will be erased and he'll start out fresh. Every reset date will be 6 months apart.

List of rules this applies to:
      - Excessive spamming in-game
      - Begging for customs/join rooms when obviously full
      - Begging for rank
      - Using YEP to harm 1.0 rooms
      - Rudeness towards players
      - Intentionally room crashing/impossible levels

Any other offenses that don't fall under any of the above categories do not get erased after the reset date. Permanently banned people also do not get de-banned on this day. Finally, anyone who abuses this system will be noted and punished.

This was typed on 9/2/13. Therefore, the next reset date will be 3/2/14, six months from now.

YEP:
- Alternative accounts will be permanently banned.

- Excessive spamming in-game:
    - Warning on profile and in-game (kick afterwards if mod)
    - 1st offense: 1 day temp ban
    - 2nd offense: 5 day temp ban and loss of rank if TP or higher
    - 3rd offense: Perm ban

- Begging for customs/join rooms when obviously full:
    - Warning on profile/in-game (kick afterwards if mod)
    - 1st offense: 1 day temp ban
    - 2nd offense: 5 day temp ban and loss of rank if TP or higher
    - 3rd offense: Perm ban

- Begging for rank:
   - Warning on profile/in-game (kick if mod) (When creating the warning on the profile, make sure to tell the person about the !practice command and how to use it!!!)
   - 1st offense: 3 day temp ban
   - 2nd offense: 7 day temp ban and loss of rank if TP or higher
   - 3rd offense: Perm ban

- Using YEP to harm 1.0 rooms (Ex: changing levels, crashing 1.0 players...)
    - Warning on profile and in-game (kick afterwards if mod)
    - 1st offense: 3 day temp ban
    - 2nd offense: 7 day temp ban (lose TP rank if posessed)
    - 3rd offense: perm ban

- Rudeness towards players: (Ex: bragging, insults, swearing directly at people, trolling, racism, sexism...)
   - Warning on profile and in-game (kick afterwards if mod)
   - 1st offense: Temp ban for as many days as you're choosing, just please state how many in the modlog. You can also take away rank. You just can't perm ban right away.
  - 2nd offense: possible perm ban if needed be... or another temp ban

- Intentionally room crashing/impossible levels: (For example: "I HATE YOU I'M GOING TO CRASH THE ROOM" *crashes)
   - Warning on profile and in-game (kick afterwards if mod)
   - 1st offense: 3 day ban
   - 2nd offense: 7 day (loss of rank if TP or higher)
   - 3rd offense: Perm ban

- Attacking YEP through manipulating code:
   - Warning on profile or in-game (kick afterwards if mod)
   - 1st offense: Perm ban

- Impersonation with fake accounts:
  - Warning on profile and in-game (kick afterwards if mod)
  - 1st offense: 7 day ban with loss of rank of TP or higher and perm ban of the alternative account
  - 2nd offense: Perm ban

- Unjust rank changing from Mods/Mentors  (Ex: Mass banning or promotion of players, banning people for no reason...)
   - 1st offense: Lose Mod/Mentor rank permanently plus a 7 day ban.

Levelmaker forum:

Eh... nothing has really happened on the forum... except for one thing:

- Impersonation with fake accounts:
  - 3 day temp ban (I think it should be a week but others don't agree...)
  - Perm ban

How to give penalties to players in YEP:

Please read the modlog before you auth/mentor someone. If you disagree about what happened to the player you're about to promote, please ask the person who had made that decision.

1. Make sure that the player knows what he/she has done wrong before giving out the penalty. If it's a new player asking for auth, teach him/her the !practice command.

2. To avoid confusion, two things have to be included in the modlog's comments before serving the penalty:

  - What rule was broken
  - What its offense number is

This way, other mentors/moderators will know what the person did, how many times he/she has broken the rules, and what penalty has been served. This will also help stop unjust punishments on YEP. Here's an example of what it could look like:

   yck1509(4)->Nabbit(3), Moderator->No one, Room crashing 1st offense

3. If you are going to give a permanent ban, you will need to find 2 other mods/mentors that agree with you and include their names in the modlog. So it could look like this:

yck1509(4)->Nabbit(3), Moderator->No one, Room crashing 3rd offense, Dragon and Wopi agree

ANYONE WHO FILLS OUT THE MODLOG WRONG WILL HAVE THEIR PENALTY REPEALED AND DISMISSED.

Okay so here is what I've been thinking:

General rules for serving penalties:

- People who have been bad on YEP will be punished on YEP, and people who have been bad on the forum will be punished on the forum. Meaning, you can't punish someone who has committed a crime on YEP on the forum, and visa versa.

- If someone begs for rank/join room more than 3 times in one room he could be subjected to a penalty.

- If someone unintentionally breaks a room more than 3 times he could be subjected to a penalty.

YEP:
- Alternative accounts will be permanently banned.

- Excessive spamming in-game:
    - Warning on profile and in-game (kick afterwards if mod)
- 1st offense: 1 hour ban
    - 2nd offense: 1 day temp ban
    - 3rd offense: 5 day temp ban and loss of rank if TP or higher
    - 4th offense: Perm ban

- Begging for customs/join rooms when obviously full:
    - Warning on profile/in-game (kick afterwards if mod)
    - 1st offense: 1 day temp ban
    - 2nd offense: 5 day temp ban and loss of rank if TP or higher
    - 3rd offense: Perm ban

  - 2nd offense: Perm ban

Please please PLEASE I want feedback. If you guys want any of the penalties to change, like make a temp ban 2 days instead of three for a particular crime, or if some are too harsh or lenient, please say. I pulled these numbers out of my ass. xD

Er...
When you say the stuff that gets you banned...
You should add that the punishment should be given after a standard 3 chance thing (3 strikes u out!)

There should also be some sort of vote ban thing.

Such as...

10 someone's complained
6 TPs complained
4 mentors complained
2 mods complained
1 admin complained (lol)

This, will be, of corse, be at at least two mods discretion (or, if avalible, at the admin's)

Just a suggestion here

Maybe all the mods and admin should make a secret someone account to investigate or something like that

Another idea :
- Protecting the guy (n0pe) who do these things : insulting/bothering/changing levels/make rooms crash/stealing identities = perm ban

I agree with everything you have covered Nabbit.

Excluding the bit about exposure I think its a little harsh exposure can't always been avoided and it's what gets people interested in Y-EP. Unnecessary exposure I disagree with however so yer it's a good idea. I think we will be able to use our discretion however.

Other crimes to be considered

▲Crashing rooms repeatedly
▲Impossible levels
▲Unorderly conduct (Directed swearing, racism etc)
▲Hacking

Yeah I was targeting unnecessary exposure more. (Should've been more specific. xp)  Only reason why I was more strict with that is because I know Yck is pretty uptight about that, but if others also find it strict...

Come on Xakaze... we were just talking yesterday and everything was fine between us. Besides, I haven't seen Nope in a long while. Forgive me for my mistakes; I am only human.

Oh yeah, I finished my penalty post... so take another look at it. ^^

@Mods/Mentors : please read the modlog before you auth/mentor someone. If you disagree about what happened to the player you're about to promote, please ask the person who had taken that decision. If you don't follow this rule, I suggest that it could be considered as abuse of power and could be punished.

Excessive spamming?

1)Lets just call it spamming... the term excessive is arguable. Spamming is AN offence not matter in what circumstances.

2) (apply to every rule) I am sure 2nd chance is pretty enough. Dont need to give them 3rd chance.

Asking for... etc.

1) I dont think they deserve the same punishment. Requesting certain custom is understandable sometimes since some levels are not post in forum and/or they may be someone. Add the term excessive no more requesting 3 times in a single room.

2) Asking for rank. Don't think it is a problem tbh. Like Someone to TP. But begging would be a problem. again begging = no more requesting 3 times in a single room. Moreover, the forum can also create a new topic called "promotion application" but that would be another story again i think.

3) asking join room when full. again no more then 3 times in a room it would be good. Some ppl may want to play it and some are willing to give up their spot to do other things. I dont think it is a problem unless they are begging/swearing for it.

4) asking for rank's punishment should be more harsh, customs are okey and for join room when full... tbh dont need to be that strict.

Unnecessary exposure of YEP in 1.0 rooms. (Ex: changing levels, predicting, links on AG...)

1) you cant predict levels now xD.

2) define unnecessary. ( I would say exposing not the reason of inviting people)

Rude to players

1) Really depends on how the player interact badly with others. I would say it wlil not need a standerd measurment since it is a subjective topic. They can also appeal in our forum to bring the discussion if he/she wish to.

Room crashing/impossible levels

1) add the word unintentionally for crashing. (or dont do it for more then 3 time a day) (you have the rule no trolling btw...)

2) impossible level: again add the word unintentionally (or not doing it the more then 3 time per day)

Hacking

1) If this is the rule i will be banned for sure. I personally use speakhack to pause the game when making level sometimes to get precise data (seldom do it now since i have more experience but i dont really know i will do it in future xD)

So. alternate the rule to: Changing site data and attacking the site ^^ or yck himself will need to be banned to

Impersonation with fake accounts

1) please define it. And we all know if he/she is true one or not since everyone has their account. If he change data to pretend to be somebody it will be in the above offence not this one.

Unjust rank changing from Mods/Mentors (Ex: Mass banning or promotion of players)

Define mass? (the word excess would be better)

@xak Nabbit is a poor mod here already xD

Lol all of those things are aimed at me. Dude you can't ban people for who they are friends with. Protecting me isn't ban worthy that doesn't even make sense. And if we were banning people for "insulting" then you would be banned too. Every time I enter the room you refer to me as "the jerk" and use pronouns such as "it" to refer to me. So don't try to make rules that you aren't going to follow.

We are not a monarch you see. As long as whoever breaking the rule they will be punished. No matter who you are. As long as you dont be a troll/misbehave you will be fine.

Please also don't put personal argument here okey?

Well take this situation for example: someone almost gets an.. oct or something and says
"ALMOST GOT IT.
ALMOST
GOT
IT
ALMOST" and then stops talking.
Plenty of people do a little spam like that or all caps stuff when they're just joking and I think that's fine unless they repeatedly do it to the point of annoying the other players. I agree with the "excessive spam" label.

I'm in big support of this it will save a lot of confusion when there is modlog 'battles'

I think you have covered everything.

Not much rule breaking go's on in the forum so not much needs to be put there.

Turn this into a sticky soon or think of some way to make sure the words get out in between the mods/mentors.

This is in too, as well as Xakaze's post.

Guys... I would like to re-direct attention to the "How to give penalties on YEP" section since nobody has said anything about that. Is it okay?

I think it is okey.

By the way. One more suggestions...
make a potential y-ep arena threat or soemthing like that. U know we can make a potential list who TP/someone wanna invite but not sure if they are okey to do so. Or we can make a invitation code bank for some trusted TPs so we can easily have more ppl in Y-EP. (need these TPs to apply for it though)

Post by holdonmyheart Sat Aug 24, 2013 7:01 pm

Should unintentionally crashing a room really be punished? I mean, I know I've crashed several while testing on accident... and it's not really that big of a deal to me, at least... I've also screwed up a few or have been in ones that have been screwed up by mistyped/miscopied level codes. I guess punishment would be okay for that if it's excessive, but punishing someone for a typo....ehhhhh.

Back to my "I forget things when I test levels" rant, as long as the people who are supposed to be testing with you know that you are testing and it might break, there shouldn't be issues. Ex: "test" in the room name, or whatever. Then it's personal accountability, and the other people knew they might have to refresh.

TL;DR- I don't think not getting things 100% right when testing a level out should be punished. Smile

Yeah I totally agree with this (the whole post). As long as you've made a room for "testing," it shouldn't matter if your level is unfinishable for example (I know I've had this happen because teles weren't properly hooked up). How does one repeatedly unintentionally crash rooms though?

I've ran into people on YEP who would crash a room and say, "I'm sorry!" and then the room would crash again and again and again and again. People who say that they are unintentionally crashing a room sometimes use it as an excuse to troll. Nobody is forcing anyone to place a temp ban on a user after the room crashed 3 times, just that you could if you wanted to. Use your best judgement to see if the perpetrator's motives are good or bad, I guess.

However... we can always adjust the rule to after crashing the room 4 or 5 times if y'all want. :p

Dude you can't ban people for who they are friends with.
Please also don't put personal argument here okey?
Wut? so I'm not allowed to argue with rules that are directed at me? I don't have a problem with rules about hacking but I do have a problem with rules that tell people who they can and can't be friends with.
Also xaks rules were pretty much just personal arguments too.
