Hello! Is it me you're looking for?
No really, I've been inactive on this forum for a while and I've been thinking- it's been a few months since we did a tournament so... why not do another one!?
Obviously, I'll need your opinion on whether it's a good idea or not so if you're interested, please let me know! Last time, it went a little wrong as my computer died (before miraculously coming back to life after the end of the tournament)!
If we were wanting to start this tournament, we would need at least 8 participants like last time and I'm planning to use the same rules so GET THOSE APPLICATIONS IN!
To start with, I'll give everyone until Thursday 26th May at BST 16:00 with the aim of starting the tournament in June. Obviously, if the tournament is more/less popular, I will decrease or increase the application time respectively.
If you think you know anyone who might be interested in joining, give them a shout. Let's hopefully make this a successful EP tournament!!

I was in a period of exams so i couldn't play EP recently, but I might be able to find some time to play again really soon.
When do you plan to do your tournament in June ( because i have other exams late in June )

Clegeux is joining which gives us 5 participants!
Ninzai: It was going to be all through June, 4 weeks and 4 rounds but I am happy to alter the schedule slightly for you :-) For example, perhaps making only 2 rounds. It depends on which weeks in June you have your exams but like I said, I can change things if you want!
Because we only have 5 or 6 participants, I'm increasing the amount of registration time to 30/05/16 for now. Please tell everyone when you play and we can hopefully get enough participants!

I'm busy with school and soccer those days (many matches with such a long travel time). But if you can delay the tournament until 10th of June or something like that, I'm able to get some shitty runs.

RULES!!
For all our currentvictims participants, I am going to lay down some rules about the tournament such as amount of rounds, levels and scoring. Please ask if you have any questions about these rules.
AMOUNT OF ROUNDS
There is going to be 4 rounds, just like the last tournament. Also like the last tournament, if things such as exams are hindering you from playing the game, you can either delay playing a round for a week before playing it after (either on the same week as another round or after the tournament) or play that round before (e.g. playing round 3 on week 2). Therefore, people won't miss out on getting precious points!
LEVELS IN EACH ROUND
Most of the rules here are based on the previous tournament and the amount of levels in each round are no exception. There will be 5 levels in each round- a mixture of customs (I will pick these carefully so they're not too hard; levels will be selected based on past experience) and multiplayer levels. This makes 20 levels in total. I will reveal each set of levels when the new week comes but if you're not going to be able to play EP a certain week I will PM the levels to you so you can play them when you are able.
SCORING
Ahh, the good old topic of scoring. It was in fact clegeux who gave me my current idea of scoring, and it is as follows: (correct me if I'm wrong!) Say there are 15 participants. For each level, the person who gets the quickest time will receive 16 points (so nobody gets 0!!) Then, as the times get slower and slower, people will receive one less point- e.g. 1st getting 16, 2nd getting 15, 3rd getting 14 and so on all the way down to last who gets 1 point. This is called a LEVEL SCORE. After all five levels have been played in each round, everyone's points get added together so each runner gets a ROUND SCORE. Finally, after all four rounds are over, everyone's round scores are added together to get a TOURNAMENT SCORE. It is this that determines where everybody finishes in the standings.
SUBMITTING TIMES
When submitting times, you have to be honest. If you aren't, the only person you're cheating is yourself. It would be ideal if you could record your times on video but if you can't, that's ok. Just make sure you tell me honestly what your times are.
You can re-run each level as many times as you wish in each round, but when the deadline comes to submit your times (this will be Friday), you must signal which times you want me to count. If you don't, I will have to take your first times. (IMPORTANT- if you record some times which are good but then get even better times which haven't been recorded, you can have the better times!!) As I said before, the deadline will be Friday and this is also when I will update the leaderboard and reveal the next round's levels. DOUBLE IMPORTANT- if you are recording times with someone else to verify (this can be useful!) make sure you are the host as not being the host can alter your times. This makes things awkward if you are recording times with someone else unless you take turns so I would recommend being with someone who ISN'T in the tournament.
INACTIVITY
If you don't submit your times and you haven't given me a valid reason why, you will be given a bit fat 0 for that round. It's your own points you're losing if you can't be bothered to tell me you won't be submitting any times.
PHEW!! I think that's everything. If you have any questions, please ask me and I congratulate you if you've managed to get here without skipping anything!!

I am very sorry to say that this tournament is close to being cancelled. Nobody has submitted anything. I will give you 3 more days and unless at least 5 people have told me their times, this tournament will be over

I am very sorry to say that this tournament is close to being cancelled. Nobody has submitted anything. I will give you 3 more days and unless at least 5 people have told me their times, this tournament will be over

HUGE NEWS- TOURNAMENT CANCELLED
Simply put, the turnout has been at an absolute minimum. Nobody has submitted their times- it seems like the tournament has been ignored. I was really excited when 9 other people signed up but this is sadly the end. I can't carry on waiting for you; I'm afraid the tournament has to be cancelled. In the Autumn I might ask again but after this failure, I'm not so sure...

Sorry, I couldn't train for this as I've been busy with another thing.
I think this wasn't a great time for this tournament (at least for me).
But next time I would suggest you to:
Make it a bit shorter (4 weeks is too long I think) and make a vote to choose the levels, it could be better for the player to give their advice about the levels (I tried them and some are maybe a bit too hard for making good times in a week)
