How to fix the Gray Screen

Post by samplokon on Mon Jul 10, 2017 5:22 pm

I have noticed a fairly common issue on the yck Exit Path website where a user will be able to login, but the game won't play, and they will instead be greeted by a gray box where the game window should be, like this:

As far as I can tell this happens because the Adobe Flash Player, the app that allows you to play Flash games like Exit Path, has somehow been disabled. I don't fully understand the reasons why this happens, but what is happening is your browser settings have been altered, and this is causing your browser to block or prevent you from loading Exit Path, without informing you of it's decision to block the game, or giving you the option to allow it.

Since it seems that nobody on the forum has made clear instructions on how to resolve this issue for the different browsers, I've taken it upon myself to do just that.

*For now, I will include instructions for Microsoft Edge, Chrome, and Yandex, since these are the browsers I have installed on my laptop.
Any help with putting together instructions for other browser types (Firefox, Safari, Opera, etc) will be greatly appreciated.

**For all browsers you should make sure that you have installed Flash on your computer first. If you haven't you can do that here: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

For Chrome and Yandex:
1. Click on an icon in the top right of your screen. If you are using Chrome it will be three dots. If you are using Yandex it will be three lines.
2. Click on "Settings"
3. In the box "Search settings", type in "flash" without quotations
4. Click on "Content settings", then look for a section called "Flash".
5. If you are using Chrome:
~Turn on "Allow sites to run Flash", if it's not on.
~Under Allow, click Add and type in the site's URL,
If you are using Yandex:
~Set the settings to either "Allow Sites to Run Flash", or "Detect and run important important Flash content (recommended)"
~Click on "Manage exceptions"
~Scroll to the bottom of the window you just opened and type in the site's URL,
~Click Done.

For Microsoft Edge:
1. Click on the three dots icon in the top right of your screen.
2. Click on "Settings"
3. Click on "View advanced settings"
4. Turn "Use Adobe Flash Player" to On.
